Sunday, 20th August 2006 at 1.00pm, saw over 950 people attend the Toowoomba Empire Theatre for the Salute to Vietnam Veterans Gala Concert. Each of the items was warmly received by the audience, with quite a few tears shed as photos and a role of honor were presented as part of an audio/visual display.

Normie Rowe of course was superb. Not just being a great singer, but also a great performer, making the audience erupt into laughter time and time again. A wonderful performance.

There has been some wonderful feedback with some Vietnam Vets saying that on leaving the concert they felt proud to be Australian and that in some way, they finally feel like they have received some of the recognition that they deserved when they first returned to Australia.
